| Ordering a custom board should be an exciting process. I can still remember my first custom board, a 6’8” Ocean Magic winged single fin shaped by Moonie. I agonised over every element, the shape, the length, width, what colour pinlines, fin box position. I was enthralled and it was this experience that set me on my journey to becoming not only a surfer but a shaper. I ended up working for Moonie some 2 years later, starting off making the tea before moving onto ding repairs and finally shaping. Click here to complete an order form for your new custom board online. The process starts with a chat on the phone. This is so much better than email as I will be able to get a feel for your ability, what you like, and the result will be a better board. If you have pictures or even video of your surfing then that is even better. Your artwork, glass job and finish are all agreed before manufacture so that your finished board price can be calculated. Once we have the dimensions and board details agreed we ask for a 50% deposit. On receipt of this we will, produce a computer file of your board. It is best if you can come in and see this on the screen so we can do any final fine-tuning, but if not we can send you a copy for approval. Your board will then be manufactured and we will give you a collection/delivery date. We will also ask you not to ride your board for 2 weeks from when it was glassed as the resin needs to cure to achieve full strength.

Delivery We can send boards to anywhere in the World, shipping will be by a reputable carrier and charged at cost. Terms and Conditions Obviously we always try to make exactly what the customer wants, but some things in the process are variable, resin tints are always done on a best endeavours basis, and artwork can only be colour matched to a reasonable extent… there is always a bit of variation in these areas. In terms of strength our boards are built to be strong, but the ocean is always stronger so we can’t offer any guarantees to longevity or deck strength… we just strive to make the strongest lightest boards available with the foam and PU resin manufacturing process. |
